Prof. Jun Guo is the principal investigator for the MIZAR-003 GC101 TIL therapy Phase II pivotal trial in advanced melanoma — one of the largest randomized TIL therapy studies reported to date, enrolling 98 patients with predominantly acral and mucosal subtypes.
Presented first results of GC101 TIL therapy in advanced melanoma (LBA 9509). The study met its primary endpoint with 42% ORR, 4.3 mo PFS (HR 0.43, p=0.0002), and zero treatment-related deaths — the largest randomized TIL therapy dataset reported in melanoma.
Launched the randomized Phase II trial of GC101 TIL therapy vs investigator's choice chemotherapy in advanced melanoma patients who progressed on anti-PD-1 therapy, enrolling acral, mucosal, and cutaneous subtypes.
As Vice President of PKU Cancer Hospital and head of the Melanoma and Sarcoma Department, Prof. Guo leads the largest and most authoritative melanoma treatment center in Asia.
Prof. Guo's research has focused on improving outcomes for Chinese melanoma patients — a population where acral and mucosal subtypes predominate. His work bridges the gap between Western melanoma research and the distinct clinical reality of Asian patients, where tumor biology, treatment response patterns, and drug access differ substantially from Western populations.
Key insight: Under Prof. Guo's leadership, Peking University Cancer Hospital has treated the largest cohort of melanoma patients in Asia, generating critical real-world data on acral and mucosal melanoma treatment outcomes that are underrepresented in global clinical trials.
